BCD Switches to Environmentally Friendly PCB Cleaner
Cloverfield, Shenzhen, China - 11/28/2008 – Furthering its commitment to creating a safe, clean, and efficient electronics factory, BCD China has switched to a new cleaner for washing circuit boards. The cleaner is produced by Tongfang Electronic New Material Co., Ltd. (www.tfweld.com), a leading company in the manufacture of environmentally-friendly materials for the electronics industry. The previous cleaner was very effective at cleaning but had a high concentration of trichloroethene which can be harmful to workers exposed to it over prolonged periods of time. Tongfang's cleaner was selected for its effectiveness, low odor, and safety profile. “Our clients appreciate our workmanship and clean boards but we also need to look after the health of our workers,” said BCD President Pete Staples. “We don't wait for a problem to occur before we take action.” The new cleaner is twice the cost of the cleaner used previously. BCD will continually evaluate its processes and perhaps one day eliminate the need for board cleaning entirely.
